Curriculum vitae – Prof. Massimo De Marchi
Prof. Massimo De Marchi was born in Castelfranco Veneto (North-east, Italy) on 4th November 1978.

Current position: Full Professor of Animal Science, Department of Agronomy, Food, Natural resources, Animals and Environment, University of Padova (Italy).

Education
• 1998 - 2002 - Degree in Agricultural Sciences, University of Padova, Italy (110/110 Magna Cum Laude).
• From April to October 2004 - Visiting scientist in the College of Agriculture and Life Science – Department of Animal & Poultry Science, Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia, USA, where he collaborated with Prof. David Notter and Prof. Emeritus Paul Siegel.
• 2003-2006 - PhD in Animal Science, University of Padova, Italy.
• From February to May 2008 - Visiting researcher in the School of Agriculture, Food Science and Veterinary Medicine, University College Dublin (Supervisors: Prof. Colm O’Donnell and Dr. Colette Fagan).

Academic carrier
• From 2006 to October 2014 - Assistant Professor of Animal Science, University of Padova, Italy.
• From November 2014 to February 2018 – Associate Professor of Animal Science, University of Padova, Italy.
• From March 2018 - Full Professor of Animal Science, University of Padova, Italy.

Awards
• Young Scientist AWARD 2016 during the 67th Annual Meeting of the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP) in Belfast (UK) for “This award is granted to an early career scientist who has demonstrated outstanding research performance with an European dimension and perspective”.
• Journal of Dairy Science® (JDS) Most Cited Award 2012 (Section: Dairy Foods) during the Annual Meeting of the American Dairy Science Association (ADSA) in Phoenix (USA) for the following paper: De Marchi et al. 2009. Prediction of coagulation properties, titratable acidity, and pH of bovine milk using mid-infrared spectroscopy. J. Dairy Sci. 92:423-432.
• Journal of Dairy Science® (JDS) Most Cited Award 2017 (Section: Genetics and Breeding) during the Annual Meeting of the American Dairy Science Association (ADSA) in Pittsburgh (USA) for the following paper: Invited review: Mid-infrared spectroscopy as phenotyping tool for milk traits.
